- Photos and descriptions
Some photos of Jeffrey during his time at Taizhou University, Linhai City, Zhejiang Provence, People's Republic of China
Linhai is an ancient city with a river on its west and south and mountains on the north.
Some maps can give an overview of the ancient part of the city and its wall:
Linhai city is surrounded by an ancient wall
sometimes called the "Southern Great Wall of China"
Today the wall is preserved and still surrounds three-quarters of the city.
Taizhou University campus is relatively new, situated just West of the city center.
Many of the ancient streets of Linhai are preserved,
still homes for many people as well as their workplaces and a variety of shops and resturants.
The ancient city of Linhai was positioned in its location largly because of the natural defenses
of the Lingiiang river (forming the western and southern edges of the city).
Linhai is famous for its oranges, normally seedless, in USA these would probably be called nectarines.
